Investigation

We have created the project from scratch, including the desktop version, responsive design of the web app, and a mobile app with unique features to deliver the top-level user experience. FXF was projected to meet the needs of both beginner and advanced traders, so we created different user personas to address the requirements of both auditories. After the detailed research and in-depth interviews, we found that all the existed cryptocurrency exchange aggregators and similar solutions had the following characteristics that could be avoided/ improved in the FXF project:
  • Multiple accounts;
  • Multiple wallets;
  • Multiple KYC (identity verification procedures);
  • Multiple interfaces.

With these drawbacks in mind, we built a complex customer journey map that covered all the actions and desired functions and a site map that summarized the app architecture.

Logo & UI

The main color used in the FXF project is black that is associated with top-level products. The logo was made gold to reflect the value and the premium quality of the product. Also, since red and green are the colors widely used in trading charts and recognized by all users, we utilized them for graphics to make the design intuitive and user-friendly. First, we designed a desktop version of FXF. Then, we worked on the responsive design of the site, ensuring that users can conveniently access the aggregator from mobile devices. Lastly, we created a mobile app that allowed for enhanced user experience. Although it was challenging to fit all the markets into a small screen, we came up with a design solution that allowed for convenient displaying of all the important information.

5.0
The work they completed and finished was above and beyond all expectations. Their communication throughout was exemplary, always in contact throughout, they listened to our guidance and implemented it with expert precision.

The design work and the mobile application, they exceeded quality expectations and delivered within budget and on time.

Results

As a result, we designed a platform with much-needed standardization and unification to the cryptocurrency trading system, making it clearer and faster for traders of any experience to use. In both desktop and mobile versions, it is possible to observe oscillations on 4 markets simultaneously, see clear data sets, and track fluctuations on leading exchanges using one wallet.
  • One account and one wallet for convenient use.
  • Unique feature combined in one platform.
  • Ability to view 4 markets at the same time.
  • Easy registration and KYC functionality.
  • Advanced security.
  • A desktop version + responsive design + advanced app to use the system on the go.
  • Rich and user-friendly design both for beginner and advanced traders.

By incorporating our findings of in-depth research and design expertise, the Northell team designed a top-level global cryptocurrency exchange aggregator that contains a unique set of features and user-friendly web and app functionality.

Thanks to the intuitive user interface and unrivaled trading experience, the FXF platform established itself as a first-class customized solution for beginner and advanced traders all over the world.

Fundok

Fundok is the new-generation guest experience management platform for short-term rental housing in Dubai.
  Deliverables
  UX, UI
    Country
  UAE

Brief & Overview

Fundok is the new-generation guest experience management platform for short-term rental housing in Dubai with the goal of becoming the world’s leader in this sector. It allows landlords to digitize and improve guest experience, provide all the important information in one place, upsell their services, and earn more money.

Challenge

The client needed a top-level UI/UX solution with advanced functionality both for the Fundok platform for landlords and the Fundok application for renters.

Design Process

   Step 1

Research
  • Understanding the client’s needs;
  • Market analysis;
  • User research.

   Step 3

Prototype
  • Customer journey map;
  • Site map;
  • Wireframes;
  • Platform and app design;
  • Responsive design.

   Step 2

Analyze
  • Workflow recommendations based on the conducted research;
  • Building the business logic of the platform and app;
  • User persona;
  • User stories;
  • References for the design.

   Step 4

Deploy
  • UX design presentation and approval;
  • UI design presentation based on feedback;
  • UI/UX design deployment.

Investigation

When contacted our Northell team, the client had only a broad vision of the functionality that should be provided on the platform for landlords and the app for renters, although having great plans for this product. Our UI/UX designer decided to go the extra mile and offered to conduct user and market analysis to identify the wants and needs of the target auditories and create a design solution that meets these requirements perfectly. The client was very satisfied with the hands-on research and professional suggestions on the workflow and design for the Fundok platform and app. Another great challenge was that Fundok is a local product intended for Dubai rental market with a goal to expand its services all over the world. So, the idea was to build a solution that meets the needs of the local market with a possibility to scale the product when needed.

Renters, in their turn, would use the Fundok app installed on a tablet that is provided in the housing. With the help of this app, the renters would be able to get relevant information on check-in and check-out workflow, activities available around the place, order food from restaurants or groceries, book sightseeing tours, and much more. The renters’ requests are then sent to the operators that take care of them at the additional charge.

After conducting the user research, presenting the workflow recommendations to the client, and agreeing on the functionality, we worked on the user persona and user stories, a moodboard for the Fundok design, and wireframes. After that, we moved to the design stage and worked on the UI/UX solution for the Fundok platform and application.

Notably, in this project, we worked not only on the client’s brief but took a proactive part in the Fundok functionality development and design vision. Thanks to the tight collaboration and brainstorming sessions with the Northell team, Fundok received a full project vision and a top-class design realization.

Results

We created an advanced UI/UX design for the Fundok platform for landlords and the Fundok application for the renters. For operators, we provided:

Ability to add several properties to the account;

Easy-to-use guest experience management platform;

Property grouping to manage several housings simultaneously;

Ability to add a team of operators to manage renters’ requests;

Detailed property statistics;

Convenient payment options;

Comfortable communication means with the renters.

For renters, we ensured:

  • User-friendly app functionality;
  • Simple order process;

  • Easy-to-navigate interface;
  • Convenient communication with the landlord

Nomos App

Nomos is an interactive website that informs visitors about aircraft noise levels around Ukrainian airports in real time.
  Deliverables
  UX, UI, Programming
    Country
  Ukraine

Brief & Overview

Nomos is an interactive website that informs visitors about aircraft noise levels around Ukrainian airports in real time. It is widely used by government, public, and private organizations, such as building companies, to determine the acceptable areas for further construction.

Challenge

The Nomos project needed a UI/UX design for a full-featured interactive tool for informing users about aircraft noise levels around Ukrainian airports, depending on the distance from the noise source to the selected area, as well as the conditions and restrictions for urban development in the selected area due to aircraft noise.

Design Process

The task was to create a simple and user-friendly UI/UX design for a website with real-time information on aircraft noise levels shown on an interactive map of Ukraine. The map had to be zoomed in and out to identify a particular address of interest and clearly highlight the contours of areas with particular noise levels around the airports. We grouped the aircraft noise figures into four categories to provide the full picture of every area:

Day equivalent

Day maximum

Night equivalent

Night maximum

Thus, by clicking on an airport area, the website visitor gets clear data on the aircraft noise levels during day and night and sees the areas with the corresponding noise levels highlighted on the interactive map. Also, according to the brief, the search option on the website allows two types of queries, by address and cadastral number.

Logo & UI

The color palette and the design of style elements were chosen according to the brand book. The colors of used elements draw attention to the key functionality of the website. Our team ensured that all the interface elements are easily recognizable on monitors with any contrast and brightness. With the mobile-first principle in mind, we first created a mobile website design and then transformed it into a desktop version. Our main emphasis was put into informativeness, convenience for all users, and decent design. Therefore, we ensured that the navigation on the website is simple and intuitive, and the information is accessible to all categories of users.

Results

We have created an informative and user-friendly website design that can be easily viewed from desktop and mobile devices. The design meets modern trends and requirements of government websites. Whether the visitor is someone interested in noise levels around their place of living, or some business representatives planning urban construction on new territories, the Nomos site provides clear information on real-time aircraft noise figures and their explanation.
