Educational mentoring tool for
novice future entrepreneurs.
BridgeX is a mentoring platform that helps aspiring entrepreneurs evaluate their
business by completing a questionnaire. The main goal of the BridgeX platform is
to help people evaluate their business idea, finalize the idea, find the strengths
and weaknesses of their business, and start developing their project.
When we started cooperation with a BridgeX partner, he gave us his ideas,
but they were not finalized. So our main challenge was to understand what
the main goal of the platform was and how exactly to implement it.
The most important thing for our team was to make the platform convenient
for both mentors and aspiring entrepreneurs. It had to be user-friendly and
with the ability for mentors to interact with entrepreneurs.
Based on the concept of the application and
its design, we prepared a roadmap to start
the development in an agile manner:
For the BridgeX project, we developed a design system from scratch. Our team created new and unique graphic elements. We also created new components, some headings, dropdowns, inputs, etc.
Our team created a UI design taking into account the specifics of the platform and its purpose. For the main color of the platform, we chose green, which symbolizes success, purity and reliability. We chose an orange color that goes well with green for accent elements.
We created this questionnaire, which consists of several stages, so that platform users (beginning entrepreneurs) can tell as much as possible about their business and its main idea. After the questionnaire is filled out, all answers are transferred to a mentor who can study information about the business and subsequently help entrepreneurs develop it.
The mentors’ dashboard displays the number of users they mentor, the industries in which entrepreneurs work, statistics of active and inactive users, and statistics of the increase in the number of users every month.
With the help of the dashboard, mentors can view the answers to the questions given by their users and add their comments/advice/thoughts to them.
On the dashboard, users can see the progress chart of the questionnaire they filled out. The progress is divided into steps that the user should go through to get their personal mentor. The dashboard also has a project time frame and an ideation panel.
For each of the personas, we created personal profiles through which they can use the BridgeX tool. Personas can view their dashboards, view statistics, reply/view answers, etc., using their personal accounts.
Our team made the main focus on this part of the platform. We made this part of the platform as convenient as possible for use. We added the following sections to this block: vehicle list, shared access, notifications, integrations, diagnostic tools, firmware update, app settings and automations. Using settings, users can customize the application to suit their requirements and needs.

We added a payment system to the platform that allows users to pay for BridgeX tool subscriptions.
In order to make it convenient for users to choose a project time frame (start date and due date), we added a special calendar to the platform, opening which users can quickly select the dates they need.
At this stage, we used a standardized and recognized development model to develop and implement new features gradually. We used Agile methodology, namely the SCRUM approach. We also used Jira for task management.
In fact, the product development process is divided into 5 main stages. Our developers wrote code for all product components using the documentation and architecture. The tasks were divided between the team members according to their area of specialization.
During this stage, we collected all the relevant information from our client to develop a product as per his expectation and requirements. We wrote technical documentation and chose technical stacks: React.js and Node.js.
At this stage, we defined the requirements for functionality and user roles. We also finalized the estimate and scope of work.
Our front-end developers were responsible for the client side of the application. Back-end developers were responsible for API and database development. We tested every new feature released. The DevOps team worked on the CI/CD process.
QA engineers tested all delivered code and carried out manual testing for developed components.
After the development and regression testing from the QA team, we switched to production deployment and integration. The tested version of the product was delivered to the users for beta testing. The team collected user feedback, fixed all the bugs, and implemented some improvements.
After deploying a BridgeX product on the production environment, if any issue comes up and needs to be fixed or any improvements are to be done is taken care of by the Northell development team.
As a result, we developed a mentoring platform for BridgeX from scratch. Before
the product was released, our partner, along with users and the team, tested the
clickable prototype that we provided to them. Thanks to the simplicity, visual
appeal of the platform, and well-built functionality, more and more young
entrepreneurs have been able to start growing their businesses.
